Charlie Winston - Happiness
With the new video for the Charlie Winston song "happiness" I wanted to capture a voyeuristic observation of the city through the lens of a camera. The idea of using a camera as a devise really appealed to me as we could tell the story of Charlie's journey using a number of different photographic techniques and styles of filming.
Portraiture was always going to be very important part of this video and for us it was about approaching a range of everyday people on the street. We didn't want to shoot 10's of beautiful extras, it was about speaking to, and giving a brief snap shot of the people of NYC.
